Jerry McInnis took the pictures below of Port Arthur on July 6 & 9, 2007. Jerry writes: Soon it will be 2 years since Rita and still a lot of damage. My fences are about 50% repaired, house is OK but ordered windows for a patio room and have all but one. Keep in mind almost two years later and that these photo's were taken on hwy 73 near Greenlawn and within 1/4-1/2 miles apart. Lots of damage is still in the area.

Left- This was a Market Basket store on 365 and 9th Ave. They finally fixed the roof and boarded up the front. Middle- Assembly of God Church on 365. They are trying to get the church area fixed up and cost is $ 850,000. They are meeting in the gym. Right- New Terminal, The cars are not from people flying out, but a car dealership using it to park their cars. The County is trying to decide if they want to tear it down or rebuild (almost two years later ).

Left-Terminal near gas pumps. Several people who have airplanes inside have built a car port of sorts to keep rain off their plane. Middle- A Hanger, this is where they had a restaurant years ago and is next to the old terminal. Right- Old Jefferson County Terminal. Control Tower was blown off but they built one next door to the new terminal. This is what has been used for two years and still the only terminal in use. New Terminal has more damage than this one.

Left- Three story bank on # 365. As of today they have the bank on 1/4 of the first floor and two offices on the 3rd open. One is Dr. Ronald Amuny. From the outside looks OK, but inside is still horrible. Middle- Chevy Dealer near Green Lawn Closed ( corner of 73 and stadium ). Right- Movie place next door closed.

Left- Methodist Temple-workers all over Middle- Methodist Temple (hwy 73 ). Right- Texaco Credit Union (now 5 star ) Still working out of temp buildings on the right. You can see ladder in front by cars where they are working (hwy 73 ).

Left- Chevy Dealer on corner of 39 and hwy 73 closed. Middle- This was McCoy Limber Co. It closed after the storm..
